We look forward to seeing everyone next year, stay tuned for dates and information!
Our church has been serving fish fry dinners since 1965. We serve an average of 650 dinners each Friday during Lent. That is 800 plus pounds of fresh cod each week! Our fish is fresh cod caught in the cold North Atlantic on Tuesday night up to Wednesday morning. The fishing boats then come into Boston where it is purchased and delivered to us on Thursday afternoon. That is why it tastes so good! We make about 250 pounds of coleslaw with the secret recipe dressing each week. We offer a huge variety of delicious desserts, many homemade and donated by people in the church community. A few years ago, we started offering oven-baked cod and baked potatoes as well as our favorite crispy fried cod with french fries.
"Why do we do it?" Well, besides that fact it is a great time of fun and fellowship for our church family and community, plus the fact we really like working together, the money raised is used primarily to provide scholarships for children to attend summer church camp. Many of the younger helpers serving the meals will be going to camp in the summer (scholarship form is located below).
